Destination DC (Washington, DC) and United Airlines hosted a virtual trivia event for Australia and New Zealand media and travel trade partners on the 23rd of March 2022. The trivia was a Kahoot style event.
Destination DC hosted 3 rounds focusing first on classic DC including monuments, memorials and museums, a Real DC round and a final festivals and events round which kicked off with the Cherry Blossom festival which begun in Washington, DC this week.
United Airlines hosted a round which focused on the future of United Airlines. By 2029 they will purchase 15 of Boom’s Supersonic “Overture” aircraft, this will make the flight time between EWR and LHR 3 ½ hours. They also pledge to be 100% green by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 100% by 2050.
We had a total of 35 media and trade partners attend the event online to test their Washington, DC and United Airlines knowledge.
The overall trivia winner was Karen McIntosh with 22 correct answers from NZ Travel Brokers who won herself a spot on the Christmas in the Capital FAM that will be taking place in Washington, DC in December with flights hosted by United Airlines.
Spot Prize winners were Jeremy Bourke from Australia and Megan Singleton from New Zealand.
After meeting with United Airlines and Destination DC today it was decided that two additional trip winners would be allocated to Ellen Goodwin of Flight Centre Australia & Amy Collins of Orbit World Travel, Christchurch who both also answered 22 questions correctly but in not as fast of a time.
