Corey has been in the tourism and marketing industry for more than 25 years but most recently envisaged, conceptualised and established Canuckiwi, an award winning representation, marketing and consulting firm for the travel and tourism industry in 2010. Corey is proud to be founder and co director with Karen McCardle. Canuckiwi specialises in tourism and travel trade marketing, consumer advertising, media and public relations strategies for suppliers and destination marketing organizations worldwide. The unique skill sets and background of their team members gives clients extensive access to strong relationships with in-market tour operators, travel trade media, digital influencers, airlines, and other stakeholders across Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Canuckiwi’s current clients include Travel Oregon, Utah Office of Tourism, Travel Nevada, Discover New England, Visit Anchorage, Destination DC, and Grapevine, Texas.
Prior to Canuckiwi, Corey was one of the founders of award winning tour operation, Anderson Vacations, based in Calgary Canada. He was involved in this travel & tourism businesses since 1994, and with his implementation of new product lines and strategic marketing programs was an integral source of Anderson’s growth. Corey sold Anderson Vacations to the Adventures Abroad Travel Group of Companies in 2015 completing a positive succession for the organisation. Corey has held board of director positions with The National Tour Association, SKAL international, Visit USA Committee (Chairman) and TAP (Travel Alliance Partners Ltd). Corey has also been acknowledged by being named as a Top 40 Under 40, Travel Personality of the Year by Travel Industry News, and a Business Leader of Tomorrow. Corey currently sits on the IAC (International Advisory Committee) for US Commercial services.
Corey’s think outside the box mentality, strong negotiation & integration skills and entrepreneurial vision works its way through his organizations, throughout his staff and strategic partners. As much as the travel and tourism industry is in Corey’s blood his family take top priority and he has been lucky enough to be able to share his passion for the industry with his family, in fact, in his daughter Lily’s (now 17) first year of life, she travelled to 37 cities with Karen and Corey. From New York, Boston, Whistler, Vancouver, Sydney, Auckland and so many more. Travel is very special to the family and even today his children continue to be absolutely amazing travellers!
