The Arrival of Camp Sarika by Amangiri
Amangiri has drawn travellers to Southern Utah for a decade and to herald its 10th anniversary, the resort will open Camp Sarika by Amangiri in April 2020. Camp Sarika will offer 10 tented-pavilions on a luxury encampment surrounded by 600 hectares of raw wilderness in the heart of the desert, located a 30-minute hike or five-minute drive from Amangiri. Each tent will include one or two bedrooms, living area, dining area, bar, private terrace with fire pit and a heated plunge pool. The camp will offer its own main pavilion and restaurant, two spa suites, swimming pool and Jacuzzi while guests still enjoy full access to the resort’s facilities.
Utah’s Newest Ski Resort
Now open, Woodward Park City, is the first all-in-one sports and ski resort in the U.S. to feature a fully integrated and state of the art campus, complete with indoor and outdoor action sports facilities open 365 days and nights a year. Located just under 45 km from Salt Lake City International Airport, Woodward Park City was imagined from the ground up to encourage intuitive growth and progression in 10 different sports and activities. From lift-accessed snowboarding, skiing and tubing in the winter, to biking and skating in the summer, Woodward Park City should be on every Utah visitor’s must-do bucket list.
Urban Meets Mountain
Park City’s culinary scene continues to expand this winter season. Courchevel Bistro, opened by the Talisker Club on historic Main Street, is named for Park City’s sister city in France and serves the new age cooking of the northern French Alps in winter to the Mediterranean Riviera region in summer. Yuta, pronounced just like the state’s name, has opened inside The Lodge at Blue Sky – a luxury Auberge Resort opened in 2019. Helmed by James Beard Award-winning Executive Chef Galen Zamarra, owner of Mas Farmhouse in New York City, Yuta offers refined American fare utilizing ingredients from the resort’s own organic farm on its 3,500 acre estate.
How-to Utah: Inspired Summit Adventures
Many visitors to Utah come to access the awe of the state’s natural landscapes, but don’t actually have the experience, skills or knowledge of where to go and how to navigate backcountry terrain safely. Inspired Summit Adventures offers friendly, local guides to lead adventure enthusiasts of all levels off the grid into Utah’s Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. In winter, they specialize in snowmobiling, cat skiing and ski touring, including a fully guided and catered overnight trip to the Castle Peak Yurt – a private hut only accessible by ski touring in Utah’s remote wilderness. In summer, they offer guided hiking, rock climbing, camping, mountain biking and bike backpacking – an experience that is growing quickly amongst the mountain biking community.
