HI-SO Auckland and Ovolo in Wooloomooloo were replicated as the unique neighborhoods of Washington, DC as Destination DC and their partners, Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group and United Airlines, treated over 100 members of the travel industry and media to a taste of DC in both Auckland and Sydney.
DC neighbourhood stations were on display throughout the venues featuring live DC inspired DJs, an arcade basketball shooting hoop, cherry blossom photo booth, a live graffiti artist and food stations with unique local DC food and beverages.
Chairing the evening of events was President and CEO of Destination DC Elliott L. Ferguson. He enforced the company’s investment in the New Zealand and Australian markets supporting travel trade partners with co-operative marketing campaigns to best serve the travel agents, for whom he acknowledged in thanks for the continued business contributing to DC’s success.
One lucky agent from each city won a trip to Washington, DC including return economy airfares on United Airlines to Washington, DC. Plus accommodation at the Kimpton Carlyle Hotel in Washington, DC.
