Travel Nevada’s sales mission to Australia saw the first US state Governor to visit the country in over seven years. Coinciding with an Economic Trade Mission, Governor Sandoval joined TravelNevada and a host of other tourism organizations from the region on a trade mission in both Melbourne and Sydney.
While Las Vegas continues to be the most popular destination for Australians to visit Nevada, visitor trends are showing patterns of Australians branching out beyond the city to enjoy rural Nevada including Highway 50 “The Loneliest Highway in America”, Great Basin National Park, the Gateway to Death Valley National Park, Ghost Towns, Mining Towns, as well-as famous movie sets in the outback or desert regions of Nevada.
The TravelNevada sales mission showcased a mixture of urban and outback attractions the state has to offer plus a special performance from the Cirque du Soleil’s visiting performers. These unique events in both Sydney and Melbourne were held for key travel trade, media and airline partners.
