The Sell Your Way to the USA program with American Airlines was launched across Australia and New Zealand at the Visit USA expos in February 2019. It was the fourth year Canuckiwi worked with an airline partner to incentivise sales to the USA. At each event, flyers were handed out to agents at partner booths. In addition, the incentive was mentioned during on stage presentations. Throughout the incentive period, trade marketing was completed to keep the program top of mind for agents.
Agents were awarded 1 point for a North American return flight, with an extra point if the PNR included one of the partner gateways – Las Vegas, Anchorage, Boston, Portland or Washington, D.C. Additional points were allocated for PNR’s including the American Arline’s All-American air pass or land package to one of the 5 partner states. This points-based system encouraged agents to switch sell destinations. At the end of the incentive period, 15 top performing agents were given the opportunity to travel to the U.S. to experience the destinations for themselves.
Winners were announced at the America Airlines 4th July event through an interactive evening with all of American’s top market producers.
Results:
– 5 Hosted FAMS with 15 retail agents
– 308 retail agents registered for the incentive
– Total revenue generated during the incentive of $341,063.12 AUD
– Extensive PR coverage with an estimated value of over $30,000 AUD
– Generated 289 social media posts while on the famil
What has this work done? Increased awareness of American Airlines flights to North America and provided firsthand travel exercise to 15 top-performing retail agents.
