Canuckiwi worked with the Utah Office of Tourism and Walker Tracker (a Health and Well Being Company) to launch a new incentive and educational program for the travel trade & travel writers in our key markets of Australia, New Zealand & Canada . The Visit Utah Walker Tracker App & Map based challenge program allowed our clients the opportunity to literally walk their way around the state of Utah virtually.
This step based challenged worked in conjunction with all of the latest wearables and/or phones to track steps. Steps made count for steps along a custom map route in Utah. As clients reached certain targets/ goals in their step challenge they were able not only to see how far they have walked but also learn and Tainan in-depth understating of points of interests in Utah along the way.
We partnered with major airlines in both Australia (Delta) and Canada (Air Canada) for the major prizes winners who won a trip to Utah once it was safe to do so in 2021. There were both team and individual challenges that clients could participate in. 823 Participants walked more than 320 million steps over the course of 65 days. Their trip began in Salt Lake City and finished in St. George Utah with 25 Utah milestones passed along the way.
We were able to generate significant media coverage across the challenges including 52 articles and stories written by publications seen by an audience of more than 1.165 million readers with an earned media value greater than $105,450.00 USD.

Walker Testimonials:
I wanted to take a minute to write you that this initiative was really one of the best I have seen in the travel industry (as a destination) during the pandemic. It helped us in our daily life to push us to have a reason to walk, and it became addictive because every day we could travel through Utah. The fact we were able to imagine a trip through Utah with this program was a pleasure for the brain! Good escape 🙂 Great Job!
